Board Member - Paul O'Donovan

My name is Paul O’Donovan and I joined the Board at Banks Avenue School in June 2016. My wife, Karen and I have a son, Rylan, Year 5 and a daughter, Amelie, who is a Year 3. I moved over to New Zealand from the UK in August 2010 and have never looked back. As a family we enjoy a fantastic life here and I feel deeply connected with Christchurch having gone through everything the earthquakes could throw at us.
I joined the Board because I wanted to contribute what I can in what is a vital time for the school. I sit on the finance sub-committee, I am involved with the hiring of permanent staff members and offer my insights into HR related issues, as well as being actively involved in all board discussions. I really believe that the direction the school is going is the correct one and if I can add value to further improve the school, then I will be happy.
I often do the school drop off so if you see me please come and say hi.
