Health Consultation 2015
It is a Ministry of Education requirement that schools consult with their communities every two years on their Health programmes. Health education is split into four areas – food and nutrition, body care and physical safety, mental health and sexuality education.
Of these four health areas sexuality education is the area that is most contentious and which has a level of confusion around it. It is important to note that sexuality education is very different to sex education. To help with this confusion we have attached a sexuality pamphlet with this questionnaire.

Banks Avenue is also a health promoting school which involves a number initiatives working with a health advisor, e.g. our pumpkin challenge. In 2014 we established a student well-being team who meet regularly.
