Smoking Policy

Rational:

The school has a commitment to comply with the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and will provide a smoke-free environment for staff and students.

Purpose:

To protect staff and students from exposure to tobacco smoke in accordance with the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and the Health and Safety Act.

Guidelines:

  1. Smoking is not permitted by staff or visitors in the school, or school grounds.
  2. This policy is effective from July 11 1994 and will be reviewed every year following consultation with the staff.
  3. The school will be identified as a smoke-free environment with appropriate notices displayed.
