Rational:
The school has a commitment to comply with the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and will provide a smoke-free environment for staff and students.
Purpose:
To protect staff and students from exposure to tobacco smoke in accordance with the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and the Health and Safety Act.
Guidelines:
- Smoking is not permitted by staff or visitors in the school, or school grounds.
- This policy is effective from July 11 1994 and will be reviewed every year following consultation with the staff.
- The school will be identified as a smoke-free environment with appropriate notices displayed.
